Visiting a restaurant that used to be something else is a great experience. It’s neat to look over the architecture and decor and see if you can tell bits of the building’s former life. One great area in Georgia that’s being redeveloped into something new is the Atlanta Dairies complex. This spot once provided fresh milk and dairy products for the surrounding area. It’s now being developed into a shopping and dining district. One of the first tenants of the district is Wonderkid. This tasty diner combines modern ingenuity with retro diner styles and it makes for such a unique spot!

The Atlanta Dairies Cooperative was formed in the 1940s by a group of farmers who proudly provided milk to Georgians for over 50 years. The co-op was shut down in the 1990s when a corporation took over.

The cooperative has actually since been reformed, but its milk production facility was no longer being used. The area sat vacant for many years and was a bit of an eyesore in Atlanta's Reynoldstown neighborhood.
Recently, the Atlanta Dairies complex has become a mixed-use development featuring apartments, a concert venue, and a lovely green space area.

It's also home to Wonderkid, a retro-style diner that feels like a step back in time to the 1970s.
