Autumn features a spectacular display of color that truly transforms our roads. The Wally Road Scenic Byway in Ohio follows the route of an old railroad and connects the wholesome Amish Country with the heartwarming Mohican Country. It’s an especially beautiful route to take in the fall.

What was once the "Wally," (the Toledo, Walhonding Valley and Ohio Railroad) has now ceased operations, but parts of the 45-mile route are featured along what is now the Wally Road Scenic Byway.

You'll find this beautiful road near the gateway to the Amish Country Scenic Byway in Holmes County.
Along the way, you'll weave your way through heavily wooded areas, charming small towns and a stunning wilderness.

Keep an eye out (and your camera ready) for historic cabins, barns that date back to the 1800s and other interesting landmarks that tell the story of the route's past.
If you plan to stop for some outdoor adventure, there are several campgrounds, such as River Run Campground (pictured) and other attractions.
