Well, maybe not "just another branch." As you can see, this library is massive. The French and Italian Renaissance-style building has seen many additions since it opened in 1898. It now covers an entire city block.

This local landmark also has a fascinating history. In its early years, it served as a museum in addition to a library. For a while in 1939, it even housed a lion named Simba on the fourth floor.
