Every once in awhile, a visit to a restaurant can be a happy surprise because its exterior doesn’t give you a hint of the culinary treat you’re about to experience. Such is the case with Tin Roof Grill. Check this place out:
With its bright colors and slick graphics, you might think that Tin Roof Grill is a casual fast food-type restaurant. Don't let the exterior of this place fool you — it has some seriously delicious, homemade food.
This little gem was featured on the show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" with Guy Fieri. He was impressed as we are. But we have to say: we don't think that this place is a diner or a drive-in, and it's certainly not a dive. The food here is in the same league as more upscale bistros.
Almost everything at Tin Roof Grill is made from scratch, right in the store. From the bread to the smoked meats, it's all created here in the kitchen, so everything is incredibly fresh and delicious.
You'll find several sandwiches on the menu, but the hot smoked roast beef is one of the best. Made with house-smoked top sirloin, it's served on a fresh-baked bun with mushroom marsala sauce.
The hand-tossed pizzas are particularly tasty, too. Try a traditional favorite like Margherita or veggie, or order the menu favorite — white bean and steak.
Entrees include everything from pasta to salmon, and you'll want to watch for the daily specials as well. These palate-pleasing dishes will make you want to come back time and time again.
You definitely don't want to miss out on dessert here. Remember how we mentioned that everything here is homemade? Well, these folks know how to make a cheesecake! They have 11 different kinds of cheesecake on the menu, plus another handful of seasonal varieties to choose from.
If you're too full to order dessert, get a slice to go. Seriously, it's that good. They sell whole cheesecakes here, too, just in case you think you might want more than one slice.

When the weather's warm, ask to sit on the patio. It's a shady, unexpected little oasis.
