There are many lakes in this beautiful mountain state! I have gone swimming in many of these beautiful lakes growing up, and those memories will always stick in my head. These 11 lakes in West Virginia are some of the most stunning lakes that I have ever seen!

1) Summersville Lake is a beautiful reservoir located in Nicholas County, West Virginia.

2) Burnsville Lake, which is located in Braxton County, is a flood control reservoir.

3) Cheat Lake is a 13-mile long reservoir located in Monogalia County.

4) Bluestone Lake is located along the New River near Hinton, WV.

5) Mount Storm Lake is a 1,200 acre reservoir in Grant County.

6) Sutton Lake is a beautiful 1,520 acre reservoir on the Elk River in Braxton and Webster Counties.

7) Summit Lake is a 43 acre reservoir in Greenbrier County.

8) Stonewall Jackson Lake, which is located in Lewis County, is a 2,630 acre impoundment.

9) Lake Sherwood is a 164 acre lake in the Monongahela National Forest in Greenbrier County.
