The Enchanting Winter Walk In Nevada You Will Absolutely Love
This year marks the 29th year of Opportunity Village's Christmas lights extravaganza. The Magical Forest is a cherished southern Nevada tradition: a veritable winter wonderland full of millions of sparkling lights, great food, nightly entertainment, kids' activities, and tons of holiday cheer. Take a look at this festive and enchanting winter walk.
The Magical Forest is located on Opportunity Village's West Oakley Campus at 6300 W. Oakley Blvd.
This Christmas tradition is open from November 29 through January 4 from 5:30 p.m. - 9.30 p.m. Sunday - Thursday, and 5:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The forest will be closed Christmas Day.
Did you know the first sidewalks in the Magical Forest were installed in 1999 —seven years after it first opened?
Between 75 and 100 volunteers staff the Forest each year.
More than 3 million lights are used to decorate the Forest.
The Magical Forest has been featured on the Discovery Channel and is one of HGTV's top holiday destinations in the U.S.
More than 120,000 visitors come to the Magical Forest each year.
About 95 percent of the Forest's decorations are crafted and donated by Las Vegas residents and businesses.
The Forest attracts many celebrity visitors. Among those famous folks who have visited include Celine Dion, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graff, Wayne Newton, Penn and Teller, former President George W. Bush, David Copperfield, and Louie Anderson, to name a few.
Grab some hot chocolate and a funnel cake and stroll through the festive grounds.
Other activities include Cheyenne's Enchanted Carousel (pictured), the Forest Express Passenger Train, Boris the Elf's Experience, the Avalanche Slide, Rod's Mini Golf, the Blizzard Mini-Coaster, nightly entertainment, and, of course, pictures with Santa.
Even the biggest Grinch will have a hard time not feeling the Christmas spirit here.
Not only is the Magical Forest a true holiday delight for kids of all ages, but it also raises funds for Opportunity Village, a nonprofit grassroots Las Vegas organization that serves intellectually disabled adults and children and provides vocational training and employment for those with disabilities. Opportunity Villages has operated in and served Las Vegas since 1954.
There are several ticket options available from admission only to admission and attractions with or without additional photos. For more information, or to purchase tickets, please visit Opportunity Village's website.
