12 Things You Know Are True If You Went To A Small High School In Nebraska

Growing up and attending high school in small-town Nebraska involves unique and memorable experiences.

Growing up in small-town Nebraska is an experience you never forget. And high school is one of the most memorable times of your life. If you went to high school in a small town, chances are good that you recognize these truths.

1. Your graduating class numbered in the double digits.

2. And of course you knew all of their names.

3. Because there were so few people in the school, you and your friends just sort of rotated boyfriends/girlfriends.

4. But if a couple dated for more than a year in high school, chances are pretty good they got married after graduation.

5. There was only one teacher for every subject, so you had the same English teacher four years in a row.

6. A lot of those teachers probably taught your parents, too.

7. Most of the staff went to high school with (and were close friends with) your parents.

8. You were in ALL of the clubs.

9. But FFA (Future Farmers of America) was your life.

10. New kids who transferred from bigger towns seemed impossibly interesting.

11. You were born with an automatic rivalry with the school in the nearest small town.

12. Rather than cutting people at tryouts and auditions, the staff had to ask for more people to show up.

Speak up, small-town NE graduates: what other things do you know to be true about that unique experience?
