The village of Adamant in the town of Calais is a quirky, fun and lovable community, and they have found a way to embrace one of Vermont’s necessary evils: Black Flies. That’s right, this community hosts an annual Black Fly Festival and the proceeds goes toward maintaining the Adamant Cooperative. This general store and post office has been the community hub since 1935 and each year they rally to keep it thriving. As the saying goes, if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em! Let’s take a look at the lineup for this year’s festivities at this Black Fly Festival in VT which takes place on Saturday, June 2, 2018.
