For the 10th year in a row, crowds will gather for one of the most unique harvest festivals around. Pumpkin chuckin' is a fun way to let off some steam while celebrating the ingenuity of local residents who compete in the contest.
This event features a competition where pumpkins are tossed through the air using a do-it-yourself constructed catapult or trebuchet. Kids and adults alike can get their hands dirty and build their own creation that will launch pumpkins across the field.
The goal is to get your pumpkin to fly the furthest. The current record is an unbelievable 689 feet! Try your hand at this fall family-friendly competition, records are made to be broken.
This Vermont Pumpkin Festival runs from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on September 30, 2018 with three rounds of pumpkin chuckin'. Along with the flying pumpkins, there will be music, a chili cook-off, kids activities, and a cornhole tournament.
Admission to the festival is $10 per person. Children 4 years-old and younger are free. All competitors and spectators are welcome to this one-of-a-kind harvest celebration.
