There’s A Great Big Turnip Festival Coming To Vermont And It’s As Incredible As It Sounds

Two years ago, the Gilfeather Turnip became Vermont’s state vegetable. These aren’t any regular old turnips, they are something pretty special. This particular root vegetable stands out from the rest and to celebrate it there will be a great big turnip festival on October 27th and you’re going to want to go.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

Have you ever attended this fun-filled turnip festival? Fall celebrations are certainly some of our favorites, but we are also looking forward to this luminous winter lantern parade.
