Texas boasts over 2,000 mountains, including major ranges like the Franklin, Guadalupe, and Davis Mountains, with many lesser-known peaks offering breathtaking views.

Did you know that there are over 2,000 mountains in Texas? Of course, we have three major mountain ranges: the Franklin, the Guadalupe, and the Davis Mountain Range, but most people don't know about the hundreds of others waiting to be explored. We've gathered some breathtaking photos of some other mountains in Texas as well, so get ready to be amazed!

1) Guadalupe Peak

Part of the Guadalupe Mountains, this is the highest point in Texas at 8,750 feet.

2) El Capitan

Another high point within the Guadalupe Mountains National Park, this peak soars into the sky above standing at 8,064 feet.

3) Bush Mountain

Also part of the Guadalupe Mountains, this is the second highest peak in Texas at 8,631 feet.

4) Emory Peak

Way out west in the Big Bend, you'll find the 7,825-foot-tall Emory Peak, which is part of the

Chisos Mountains.

5) The Chinati Mountains

Located in Presidio, the highest point of the Chinati Mountains is Chinati Peak, standing at 7,728 feet tall.

6) The Davis Mountains

Located near Fort Davis, the tallest point here is called Baldy Peak at an elevation of 8,378 feet. One of the most scenic drives in Texas, this is a road trip you'll want to take year after year.

7) Sierra Blanca

One of three volcanic peaks in Hudspeth County, this one stands at 6,891 feet. This drone footage shows a bird's eye view of just how beautiful these Texas mountains are.

8) The Franklin Mountains

If you live in El Paso, you get a nice view of the Franklin Mountains running right through the city! The highest elevation here is 5,426 feet.

9) Packsaddle Mountain

Located in Llano County about five miles southwest of Kingsland, the highest elevation is 1,628 feet.

10) Old Baldy

Within Garner State Park you'll find one of the most iconic hills in Texas, rising to a height of around 1,890 feet.

11) Ranger Peak

As part of the Franklin Mountains, you can actually take an aerial tram here to view the beautiful mountains from above!

12) Double Mountains

Near Rotan, you'll find these two Texas mountains that stand right next to each other at around 2,500 feet.
