Have you heard of The Lost Sea in Sweetwater? Well. You should have. Mainly because it’s the largest underground lake in the United States, but also because it’s pretty much in your backyard. This is a place where your kids can marvel at the cave walls, find themselves stunned at the gorgeous reality of nature, and beg to ride glass-bottomed boats. Where else can you do that…? Right?! Right. Take a look!
Roughly 150,000 visitors make their way to The Lost Sea on an annual basis.
It's normally under sixty degrees in the cave, with high levels of humidity. You're going to be dripping a bit of sweat down here - you may want to skip the mascara.

Craighead Caverns is gorgeous; the depth of the cave almost shocking. Keep an eye out for anthodites - they're spiky clusters of rock known as cave flowers, only found in a handful of places across the world.
The lake is registered as a National Landmark, making it very necessary that you take care of the grounds while you visit. The park proffers a couple of stores, a kitchen for the hungry, and a delicious ice cream parlor! Plus TONS of picnic spots, perfect for some time with the little ones.
You can ride on a glass bottomed boat in Sweetwater, giving you the option to see the depths of the lake beneath your feed.
