This Train In Oklahoma Is Actually A Restaurant And You Need To Visit

Oklahoma is full of unique restaurants, but we found one that is sitting in the little town of Heavener, Oklahoma, that is one-of-a-kind (train buffs get ready!). Originally built in 1905, the Southern Belle railroad car was known as the “Sweetheart of American Trains,” and was a passenger train of the Kansas City Southern Railway. This car had an established route from 1940 to 1969 from Kansas City to New Orleans – an 868-mile journey. Although many were saddened when the Southern Belle stopped its journey, a few local train buffs decided to refurbish one of its cars and open a restaurant called Southern Belle in Heavener.

Southern Belle is not only a nostalgic, unique place to dine, but the food is heavenly. You’ll find some of the best chicken dinners in the state, along with the most delicious homemade desserts. Take a drive out to Heavener and hop onboard the Southern Belle for a dining experience to remember.
