The state is dotted with lakes, ponds, and rivers that allow for lots of activities. Hiking around them, boating on them, and looking out and enjoying the scenery makes any visit special. 1. Loon Lake Campground, Croydon

Loon Lake might not be well-known compared to the others on this list, but the man-made 100-acre private beauty is fantastic nonetheless. 2. Harbor Hill Camping Area, Meredith

One of the smaller campgrounds on this list, we love how family-friendly this spot it. You'll find it on the southern end of Lake Winnisquam. 5. Squam Lakes Association Campground, Squam Lake

Perfect for those looking for a more rustic, quiet camping experience Squam Lake Association offers primitive camping spots that require either hiking or boating. Squam Lake is near Lake Winnipesaukee but is less-visited making it a fun and more peaceful escape.
