If you are interested in exploring a unique park in New Orleans, we think you should visit Crescent Park. It is one of the newest parks in New Orleans and it is truly amazing here. Let’s explore!
Crescent Park is one of the newest and most beautiful parks in New Orleans.
If you haven't visited yet, there are three entrances to the park--one at Marigny and N. Peters St., which includes an elevator, this red bridge at Piety St. and Chartres St., and then a third entrance at the end of the park, off of Chartres between Bartholomew and Mazant.
This park was built from the leftover warehouses and wharfs found on this part of the Mississippi River.
Designers incorporated former docks and other warehouse areas to create a beautiful park.
One of the things that makes Crescent Park stand out is the unique gardens that abound here.
Landscape architects took care to select plants native to New Orleans and Louisiana that were also attractive to butterflies and other wildlife. It makes for some truly beautiful greenery throughout the park.
There are numerous bike lanes and paths throughout the park for joggers and bikers to enjoy.
It's also nearby NOCCA, so young art students often come here to sketch or enjoy the scenery.
More recently, park managers have been hosting fitness classes in the park.
The weekly exercise classes, including a Thursday evening yoga class, have been very popular and a great way to enjoy the epic river views here.
And, Crescent Park is quickly becoming the spot to catch fireworks over the river.
It's less crowded than the riverwalk--and just as beautiful a spot.
So consider visiting and exploring Crescent Park, one of the most beautiful parks in all of New Orleans.
We think you are going to fall in love with the gorgeous landscaping and the powerful beauty of the Mississippi River you'll discover here.
