The Incredibly Unique Park That’s Right Here In Wyoming’s Own Backyard

Some of the most unique geothermal features in Wyoming aren’t in Yellowstone National Park, but instead, they’re hiding in a small town in the middle of the state. Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis is a little-known state park that’s worth a visit any time of year.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now: https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/nominate/

You can find Hot Springs State Park at 538 Park St, Thermopolis, WY 82443. While you’re in town, set aside time to explore Wyoming’s Dinosaur Center, which is one of the only places in the world that will take you out to dig for fossils yourself!
