If you grew up in the '80s, you'll probably remember a time where all of the cool kids got to go down to the arcade and spend their hard earned allowance money on video games. These old arcades were filled with neon lights and the sweet sound of pinballs clashing about, and it was the soundtrack to many Wyomingite's childhood days. We might not be in the '80s anymore, but you can play all of the retro classics at this family-friendly arcade bar in downtown Cheyenne and feel the nostalgia for simpler times.
Welcome to Flippers Family Arcade! This retro arcade is the perfect outing for the whole family right here in downtown Cheyenne.
From the moment you walk in and are hit with the glow of neon lights, you'll feel nostalgic for your childhood and excited to take on new challenges via dozens of arcade games.
Flippers has all of your favorite classics from skee-ball to Pac-Man and everything in between. The air hockey table is calling your name.
Classic arcade games are plentiful at Flippers. You'll find favorites like Super Mario Bros., Jurassic Park, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. After you beat the high score, you can race your friends in a race simulation game, or battle each other on Dance Dance Revolution or a game of Guitar Hero.
This old fashioned arcade has many different themed pinball machines, including one of the rarest out there: Chicago Fire. This pinball machine was made in 1988 and is still going strong.
Flippers also has many modern themed pinball machines from Flinstones to Iron Man and even a Metallica pinball machine that plays their songs. You'll also find a video pinball machine made by Atari, which is sure to hit your nostalgia button.
To fill your stomach after playing all day, Flippers also has a bar and a food selection.
A day at the arcade isn't complete without a chili cheese dog, hamburger, or french fries, all at an affordable price.
Unbeknownst to most visitors, it's rumored that Flippers is perhaps haunted due to its location.
Flippers Family Arcade moved into one of the most haunted buildings in Wyoming. Back in 1880, this building used to be a high-end social club called The Cheyenne Club. In its prime, employees told stories of a ghost hanging in a corner of the club. The building has had many different renters throughout the years, and many of its tenants have reported ghost sightings, but Flippers has yet to see anything. It's interesting to think that an old fashioned arcade could be home to more than just retro games.
A visit to Flippers Family Arcade is the perfect way to step into your childhood and come out with new memories with family and friends.
