3. Green Acres - Sauk City
With a century of tradition as a stage coach stop, general store, dance hall and more, this place is as much a part of Sauk City as anything. Recently taken over by new owners, it's still that same charming locally owned spot you remember. Located at 7470 WI-78 Trunk, Sauk City, WI 53583.
4. Schreiner's - Fond du Lac
The Schreiner's sign on 41 North is one of those iconic road trip sights. This restaurant has existed in some iteration since 1938 and has been at its current location since 1973. Located at 168 N Pioneer Rd, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
5. Klemme's Wagon Wheel - Howards Grove
Since 1972, this place has been serving up broasted chicken and delicious soups to the folks in the Sheboygan area. Located at 120 S Wisconsin Dr, Howards Grove, WI 53083.
6. Wayne's Family Restaurant - Oconto

7. Madistan - Madison
Located on the UW-Madison campus, this place is the first halal location in Madison and it's a break from the norm while being totally welcoming and delicious. It's like visiting a wonderful grandmother's kitchen.

8. Mona Lisa - Eau Claire
This place is such a gem. With upscale food without the prices and waiting times of bigger cities, Mona Lisa does seasonal cooking so well. Located at 428 Water St, Eau Claire, WI 54703.
9. Sala Modern Sicilian - Milwaukee
Inspired by their great-grandma, a brother and sister opened this place in 2001. They grow herbs out back and use vegetables from their father's nearby farm. You can feel the love in every bite. Located at 2613 E Hampshire St, Milwaukee, WI 53211.
10. Plia's Kitchen - Green Bay
These folks started out serving their signature stuffed chicken wings at area farmers markets. They were so popular, the owners took a leap of faith and opened the restaurant. Located at 1300 S Webster Ave, Green Bay, WI 54301.
11. Infusinos - Kenosha
Opened in 1987, this place takes old family recipes and gives them a fresh and delicious update. Located at 6800 39th Ave, Kenosha, WI 53142.
12. Javier's Cuisine - Racine
Chef and owner Javier Ortega's Mexican roots are in evidence here, but he's cooked nearly every style of food in his years in the kitchen. That interesting fusion makes for a great menu here.
