The restaurant was founded back in 1991 by a veteran in the restaurant industry named George Liapis. When he was young and woking at a diner back in the 1950s, he was given the nickname of Georgie Porgie. The name followed him and eventually it became the perfect name for his restaurant.

With his wife Dina, he created a dining establishment that provided fast service, delicious food, and an amazing atmosphere.

The tree fort motif is woven into the restaurant’s décor and the restaurant is popular with kids of all ages.

People don’t come back again and again just for the fun atmosphere though. The menu is loaded with delicious and towering burgers and sandwiches. The restaurant uses Wisconsin-fresh ingredients whenever possible. If you choose a burger, go with a pretzel bun!

The sides are also wonderful – enjoy options like house-breaded cheese curds, and thick-cut beer-battered onion rings that are crisped to perfection.

Whatever you do at Georgie Porgie's, save room for dessert. The custard is made fresh daily from locally-sourced milk and eggs. A simple cone is sublime, but the sundaes are out of this world!

Georgie Porgie’s in Wisconsin is open Monday-Saturday and it also has a second location in Racine. Learn more about the menu on the restaurant’s website. If you love unusual restaurants, here are some more fun Wisconsin establishments you should put on your list.
