The pandemic has changed a lot of things, including the way we watch movies. While traditional theaters don’t exactly allow for social distancing, drive-ins do, which is why several pop-up drive-in theaters have emerged in recent months. Most of these new drive-ins are stationary; however, there’s one that’s traveling all around Chippewa Falls. Offering a safe way to catch a movie, CV Drive-In recently announced that it will be hosting pop-up drive-ins all over Chippewa Falls.

That’s right; a giant video wall and FM transmitter will be transforming regular parking lots into drive-in theaters.

The first of CV’s drive-ins “popped up” at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair Grounds on May 23rd. That was just the beginning; the pop-up drive-in will open in a new location every Saturday.

And while the location and movie change weekly, several things stay the same. For example, the movies always start at 8:45 p.m.

Also, concessions are available at each showing. And to ensure everyone is safe, all concessions are delivered directly to moviegoers’ cars – along with some hand sanitizer and garbage bags.
