This Epic Train Ride Near Milwaukee Will Give You An Unforgettable Experience

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. Just 35 minutes south of Milwaukee, you’ll find the East Troy Railroad Museum. In the early 1900s, the East Troy line was the only means of public transportation. The electric trolley system once operated on over 200 miles of track in Southeast Wisconsin, but these days, all that remains is the small stretch between East Troy and Mukwonago.

The East Troy Railroad Museum protects and preserves this historic stretch of rails and offers tons of fun, unique rides as a means of educating visitors about Wisconsin's railroad history.

They offer general tickets for $12.50 for adults and $8.00 for kids, which last all day and allow you to take as many rides on as many cars as you like!

There are Dinner Trains running from May through October. Tickets cost $71.09 per person and includes a four-course dinner as it travels from East Troy to Phantom Lake and Indian Head Park, before completing the trip back to East Troy.

Another favorite ride out of East Troy is the Pizza Train! This awesome family activity takes place on several Saturdays in May through August and last 1.5 to 2 hours. The train heads from East Troy to Byrnes Park and back to East Troy. Pizza Train tickets are sold in sets of 2 (for $52.00) and sets of 4 (for $77.60). You even get to choose your pizza flavor when you purchase tickets!

East Troy Electric Railroad LOVES themed train rides. They run fun, short seasonal rides for kids throughout the year. There are tons of colorful activities for kids, and the train makes a stop at the Elegant Farmer, where you can get out, stretch your legs, and hold baby chicks and bunnies!
