1. Smoke Shack
Smoke Shack is arguably one of the most well-known restaurants in Milwaukee, and they sure know how to do BBQ. Their meats are smoked on-site, making the entire restaurant smell amazing. The atmosphere is laid back and they have an awesome patio to soak up Milwaukee summers. Smoke Shack is a must-try for anyone, especially if you're looking for top-notch barbeque in the Third Ward.

4. Speed Queen Bar-B-Q
It might not look like much, but this hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint is to die for. Using the largest BBQ pit in the city and secret sauces unlike any other, this homemade barbeque can't be beat. They only take cash, but have an ATM available if you didn't plan ahead. Don't expect anything fancy, but you can expect speedy service and some great food.

This southern-inspired spot serves Creole and Cajun dishes. Not only do they serve up slow-cooked comfort food, they have a raw bar of oysters, clams, and shrimp. Grab a drink and a meal at this little stand located in the parking lot of the old Gerry O'Brien's Meat Market.

Here's another hole-in-the-wall BBQ spot that has been around since 1961! The old school spot hasn't been updated, but they sure know how to cook! The saucy and tender rib tips are to die for, and they even have a buffet Tuesday-Friday.

7. Milwaukee Smoked BBQ
This humble barbeque joint got its start in the garage of the owner, Don Michaels! The restaurant used to be a motorcycle shop, but Don decided to share his love of BBQ and turned the garage into Milwaukee Smoked BBQ. Smoked in custom-made smokers, you'll get outstanding ribs, sandwiches, and sides!
