The dairy is located in the east side of Appleton, just off of highway 441. It’s a busy area of the Fox Valley now but when Lamers was founded in 1913, this was quiet dairy country. The dairy is now in its fifth generation of Lamers family operation.
Lamers Dairy has grown over the years but it has remained a local operation. The dairy sources all of its milk from a few producers that are located within 30 miles of the dairy.
You can visit the Lamers Dairy Store and purchase milk and a variety of fresh dairy products – just look for the red farm building and the blue silo.
The store has a huge 30-food observation window so visitors of all ages can see the bottling process. Above the window is a mural depicting the 100-year history of the dairy.
You can enjoy a soft serve cone made with ice cream produced by the dairy – Lamers sells chocolate, vanilla and twist cones at family friendly prices. Not a soft-serve ice cream lover? The dairy also sells hand dipped Cedar Crest ice cream.
The dairy’s milk is rBGH-Free. Lamers Dairy pays farmers an additional incentive not to use hormones that artificially stimulate their cows to produce more milk. It sells milk in both plastic and glass bottles.
The milk is delicious but you don’t have to take the dairy’s word for it. Lamers Dairy has won five first place trophies in the World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest: 1% chocolate milk (2019), half & half (2019), whole chocolate milk (2016 & 2015) and white milk (2013). Ar the dairy you can judge the milk’s quality for yourself!
Lamers Dairy is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. If you can’t make it to Lamers, here are some more wonderful ice cream parlors that sell cold and delicious soft serve ice cream.
