Summerville Lake is a hidden lake in West Virginia and a place where you can swim, water ski, boat or fish, and you can also snorkel or scuba dive. Camping sites are also available. Although it's technically a reservoir, it's considered the largest lake in the state and one of the best places to visit.

4. Blenko Glass Company,Milton

Blenko Glass Company in Milton is one of the few places around where you can still find hand-blown glass. At their factory in Milton, you can not only purchase handmade glass, you can also watch them make it. Demonstrations are done several times each week.

Where can I find some hidden lakes in West Virginia?

In West Virginia, there are plenty of places that are overlooked but shouldn’t be. These are hidden gems that are lesser-known and not overrun with hoards of people like the most popular places. There are plenty of lakes around the state that not many people know about like Spruce Knob Lake, a 25-acre body of water located high up in the mountains near Dry Fork. It has some of the clearest water in the state. Another hidden gem lake is Lake Sherwood which is tucked away deep in the Monongahela Forest. Not only is it 165 acres but it has several tiny little islands, a bridge, beaches, and designated areas for camping.

Located in Audra State Park is a hidden riverside beach with a set of cascading waterfalls, perfect to spend a hot summer’s day. Located in Charleston, you can take a hike to a hidden cave with a waterfall within Coonskin Park. The Coonskin Grotto is otherworldly and worth the hike to get there.
