Washington is now the 2nd largest wine producer in the country. And if you're looking to explore wine country while enjoying a relaxing staycation, we also have some beautiful places to stay. And while loving a good glass of vino isn't required to stay at these properties, it certainly doesn't hurt.
1. Walla Faces Inn at the Vineyard, 254 Wheat Ridge Lane, Walla Walla
This estate vineyard offers comfortable lodging in the heart of Walla Walla wine country. The vineyard hotel has a beautiful seasonal saltwater pool, and you can visit the tasting room as often as you'd like.
2. Willows Lodge, 14580 NE 145TH St., Woodinville
This incredibly elegant lodge is across the street from Chateau Ste. Michelle in the heart of Woodinville wine country. The rooms have soaking tubs and fireplaces, so you'll have the perfect place to relax with your vino. Two dozen tasting rooms are just a short walk or a complimentary bike ride away.
3. GrandView On The Lake, 322 W. Woodin Ave., Chelan
Lake Chelan is a beautiful tourist destination, and the Chelan area happens to be home to over two dozen tasting rooms. Rest your head at Grandview on the Lake, a unique lakefront property within walking distance to lots of eateries and Chelan Riverwalk Park.
4. Best Western Plus The Inn At Horse Heaven, 259 Merlot Drive, Prosser
Want to be within stumbling distance of Prosser's Vintner's Village, a collection of local wineries and tasting rooms? Book a room at the Inn At Horse Heaven. After your tastings, you can relax in the pool and hot tub and enjoy a restful night in a spacious room, then indulge in a complimentary hot breakfast in the morning.
5. Posthotel, 309 8th St., Leavenworth
This might be the most relaxing hotel in the entire state -- there's even an entire room dedicated to naps. Leavenworth has quietly become one of our top wine destinations, with almost two dozen tasting rooms in the downtown area alone (plus plenty of chartered winery tours available). And this luxurious, adults-only hotel is the perfect place to relax after a day of wine tasting.
Washington's wine industry is booming, and visiting some of our wineries is a great way to spend a day. And if you visit this one, you can even spend the night.
