There’s A Little Slice Of Heaven Right Here In Washington And You’ll Want To Visit
We don’t mean to brag (OK, maybe a little) but Washington has some downright charming small towns. From our Bavarian village,
Leavenworth, to Walla Walla wine country, we’ve got plenty of places that feel like a little piece of paradise. But if you ever want to feel like you’re in actual heaven, spend a weekend exploring our Victorian seaport, Port Townsend.
During these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list to visit at a later date.
Port Townsend is one of the most charming places on Earth.
It's located on the picturesque Olympic Peninsula, and it's known for both small town charm and big city amenities.
Fort Worden Historical State Park is now a place for festivals and fun, but it was once home to nearly 1,000 troops and officers training to defend the Puget Sound from potential enemy invaders.
The park is one of the city's top attractions.
The waterfront location gives the town a peaceful, laid back vibe...
...but this little city is big on amenities.
You'll find amazing restaurants, coffee shops, and a pretty great nightlife on these quiet streets, plus a plethora of shops.
Some of the hotels date back to the 1800s, when Port Townsend was a bustling seaport.
This is the Bishop Victorian, established 1891.
The Palace Hotel is the best place to stay if you're a history buff or love a good ghost story.
Constructed by a retired sea captain in 1889, this place served as a brothel for many years, and each room is named after one of the ladies who lived there. In fact, this is one of the most haunted buildings in the state.
Need to relax? Head straight to Soak on the Sound on Monroe Street.
You can enjoy a private soak in a warm saltwater pool followed by some time in a hot sauna. They even offer massages.
There's never a bad time to visit Port Townsend, but it's especially fun to go for a festival.
The Port Townsend Victorian Festival is held every April, and it's a wonderful weekend full of events and Victorian costumes.
No wonder everyone seems to love this place.
There's truly something for everyone in this peaceful little port city.
Have you been to the beautiful Port Townsend yet? It’s definitely one of Washington’s
most charming small towns.
