If you’re a big fan of the Farmer’s Almanac, you may be feeling conflicted about what you’ve seen for the upcoming winter. While the Old Farmer’s Almanac is claiming winter in Washington will be more warm and wet that frigid and snowy, the “newer” Farmer’s Almanac (it started publication in 1818) has called for a teeth-chattering, snow-filled winter. Here’s some good news: the Old Farmer’s Almanac is probably the correct one.

The Old Farmer's Almanac dates back to 1792, and it's predicting warmer than average winter temperatures in all regions except the Desert Southwest.

The southwest might see colder than average weather this year (sorry, snowbirds).
This means we likely won't see another Seattle Snowpocalypse, where the city basically shuts down...

...and don't even get us started on how harrowing Spokane's South Hill gets in the winter.
The coldest parts of winter this year will be late December, early January, and mid-late February.

That being said, a mild winter is also appreciated as it makes traveling to said places much, much easier.
