The name Chelan is a Salish Indigenous word, "Tsi - Laan," which means Deep Water.

That's certainly an appropriate name. Lake Chelan is the third deepest lake in the United States, and the 26th deepest in the world.
During the day, especially in the summer, you'll find hundreds of Washingtonians on the lakeshore and out in boats, fishing, tubing, and having a fantastic time...
