It’s Always Halloween At This One-Of-A-Kind Cantina In Washington
El Chupacabra in Seattle offers a unique Day-of-the-Dead themed dining experience with delicious Mexican food and vibrant decor.
While there are hundreds of delicious Mexican eateries in Washington, there's nothing quite like El Chupacabra in Seattle. This Day-of-the-Dead inspired cantina has several locations in the Emerald City, and the food and decor are both amazing.
The first El Chupacabra opened in Greenwood in 2006, followed by the Alki Beach location (pictured here) in 2011.
It was instantly popular.
Inside, you'll find dim red lighting, loud rock music, and eclectic decor.
The Day-of-the-Dead theme makes it seem like it's always Halloween.
While the atmosphere here is definitely amazing, most people go to restaurants for the food...
... and luckily, that happens to be delicious at El Chupacabra.
The meat is slow-simmered, the sauces are made fresh, and the menu includes plenty of Mexican classics.
The portions here are pretty big, but the prices are not.
Each entree comes with your choice of meat, and there are some great mock chicken and steak options for vegetarians.
El Chupacabra also has a daily happy hour, and their Alki location's patio stays packed all summer with locals enjoying tacos and margaritas with a view.
They recently added some upstairs patio seating for those 21 and over (the restaurant itself is family-friendly).
This casual cantina is open daily for lunch and dinner, with the bar staying open late.
You'll love the art as much as the enchiladas.
El Chupacabra is especially fun to visit around Halloween. And if you enjoy delicious Mexican food, you'll love our taco trail.
