Dine Outdoors On The Waterfront All Year Long At La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib House In Washington
La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib House offers a unique winter outdoor dining experience on the Swinomish Channel with a cozy, historic ambiance.
This may be an extremely tough time for the restaurant industry, but we can't help but be inspired by the resiliency and creativity of our favorite local eateries. And since it's still important to show them our support by eating their delicious food, we'd like to give a shout-out to a beloved small-town restaurant that sits right on the Swinomish Channel. La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib House has found a way to make outdoor dining a winter option, and we couldn't be happier.
Located at 614 1st St. in downtown La Conner, La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib House has been a local favorite since its 1986 opening.
The restaurant is located in a historic building where smuggling, gambling, and all kinds of other antics once took place.
And while we all hope to be dining inside that building again soon, in the meantime, there's the heated patio.
You'll be protected from the elements by open-air tents, heat lamps, and cozy blankets.
Ordinary, dining right on the banks of the Swinomish Channel in December would be unheard of.
But if there's one positive thing that has come from these strange times, it is certainly this.
While the menu here is decidedly upscale, the ambiance is laid back and casual.
The atmosphere pays homage to the building’s earliest days, when fishermen, loggers, farmers, and locals gathered to enjoy a hearty meal and a cold beverage (or three).
When the current owners Kari and Jason purchased the restaurant in 2008, they decided the menu should focus mainly on seafood and prime rib.
We're glad they did, because the menu here is absolutely delightful. This is the Pasta La Conner, which features Bay shrimp, Dungeness Crab, spinach, and garlic cream over fettuccine.
Of course, you can never go wrong with the classic meal of fish & chips.
And if neither seafood nor prime rib sounds appealing, try some chicken marsala or a tasty burger or sandwich. Everything is made from scratch, and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
For the time being, La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib is offering a limited menu for both dine-in and takeout.
They're open Friday - Tuesday from 1 - 7 p.m., and reservations are recommended.
Have you dined at this timeless gem? The next time you're in La Conner, show them some love.
