Riverboat Cruise in Washington

May 10, 2021

Does Washington have many rivers?

Washington really is a paradise for those who enjoy water recreation, as The Evergreen State boasts beautiful shorelines, resplendent rivers, and some of the most pristine lakes you’ll ever see! Lake Chelan is a beloved favorite. Roughly 50 miles long, it’s Washington’s clearest, most pristine lake, and is one of the state’s top summertime destinations! The Okanogan River is another cerulean blue body of water that will leave you speechless.

What are some fun things to do in Washington’s rivers?

Ever heard of river tubing? It’s a PNW favorite, and there’s no shortage of great places to go to enjoy this popular pastime! The Wenatchee River at Lake Wenatchee is a favorite river tubing location. It flows southeast for 53 miles before emptying into the Columbia River. The best place for a lazy river float is the Leavenworth area, where you can rent your tubes from a company like Blue Sky Outfitters or bring your own equipment. Washingtonians have been tubing along the Yakima River for decades, and its dazzling blue waters and striking gorges make it one of the most scenic places for this pastime! Other water-bound favorites include canoeing, kayaking, boating, and fishing — you really can do it all in Washington’s rivers!

What are some unique tours I can take in Washington?

While the riverboat cruise in Washington certainly is the most luxurious, there are other fun and memorable ways to tour The Evergreen State! The Jolly Trolley is perhaps the most unique; during spring and summer, you can take a five-hour tour of San Juan Island aboard its charming, red trolley. This is the only old-fashioned, open-aired authentic trolley on San Juan Island, and it’s an absolute delight! If you prefer the experience of the rails, Washington has several incredible train excursions that offer unparalleled views of the state’s most scenic spots.
