What are some easy hikes in Vermont?

With the Appalachian Trail, the Long Trail, and Camel's Hump to master there are some pretty difficult Vermont hiking trails. But sometimes you just want a quick and easy hike with epic views. Here are a few easy hikes in Vermont:

  • Thundering Brook Falls, Killington, VT: At only about a half mile this easy trail is just as beautiful as some of our longer trails. When you travel over the boardwalk to reach Thundering Brook Falls you will be surrounded by the gorgeous Green Mountain National Forest - short and sweet but oh so pretty.
  • Buttermilk Falls Trail, Ludlow, VT: Another fun waterfall hike in Vermont, this half-mile trail will treat you to three separate waterfalls. You really can't beat that for a wonderful stroll through the woods. The Okemo State Forest is beautiful no matter how long you have to enjoy a hike.
  • Sea Caves at Arthur Park, Burlington, VT: Another easy but rewarding hike will take you to a pretty impressive cave system right across from Burlington High School. It is best hiked in the winter when the ice has frozen so you can effectively explore the caves.
  • Red Rocks Park Loop Trail, Burlington, VT: If you want a little bit longer trail that is still easily traversed, try this 2.7-mile loop trail overlooking Lake Champlain. Take the pooch for a nature walk around the lake on a warm afternoon for incredible lake views.
