Vermonters are no strangers to enjoying the outdoors. Whether you love splashing around in our beautiful lakes or hiking the trails to majestic overlooks, there's no shortage of incredible places to visit. With so many natural attractions so close by, we decided to maximize outdoor fun and see how much we could reasonably fit into one day. And so for those of you who love hiking waterfalls, this wonderful day trip leads you to not one or two... but six Vermont waterfall hikes, and all in one day! Between hiking, admiring, photographing, and even some swimming, this outdoor adventure is sure to be a blast!

1. Falls of Lana
Located in the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area in Salisbury, the Falls of Lana are impressive. Sucker Brook drops over 100 feet to create fantastic horsetails and cascades. The hike to the base of the upper falls is 0.7 miles and will take about 30 minutes and is worth every step. You can choose to hike the full Falls of Lana Trail to ascend to a breathtaking overlook with super views of Lake Dunmore and the Champlain Valley. The full trail is a four-mile loop. It's one of the most impressive Vermont waterfall hikes.
2. Texas Falls
Find Texas Falls in the Green Mountain National Forest in Hancock. Enjoy a very brief 0.1-mile hike to the viewing area. The falls have a 35-foot total drop where the water rushes in cascades dropping into large punch bowls. While the falls are the main attraction, continue on the one-mile trail for a nice wooded walk that loops back to the falls. It's one of the best waterfall hikes in Vermont.
3. Moss Glen Falls
Moss Glen Falls of Granville doesn't require much of a hike. You can see it right from Route 100. But take the time to get out of the car and walk the 0.1 miles to check out this gorgeous waterfall up close. The 35-foot horsetails are spectacular as they shoot over the rocks.
4. Warren Falls
Make sure you have your swimsuit handy during the summer when visiting Warren Falls. The falls crash into emerald green pools surrounded by captivating gorge walls. A short 0.1-mile hike brings you to this popular swimming hole. This short trek is surely one of the best Vermont hiking trails with waterfalls.
5. Bartlett Falls
Bartlett Falls is a delightful block-style waterfall that drops over a long ledge. When the water is flowing slowly to moderately, you can actually walk behind the 15-foot waterfall getting a whole new perspective as the rushing water drowns out all of the surrounding sounds. A large inviting pool sits at the base of the falls where you can wade in ankle-deep or completely submerge yourself.
6. Vergennes Falls Park
Finish the day off with a picnic dinner at Vergennes Falls Park. Settle in for the beautiful view of Otter Creek rushing between the buildings perched on rocky islands creating three segmented waterfalls that drop 37 feet in a huge splash. The park is equipped with picnic tables and grills just waterside so you can enjoy dinner with a view.
