This worker-owned cooperative has been running for over 30 years, and to this day they have the same goal: to create yarns of the highest quality, to help sustain regional sheep farming, and to develop environmentally sound ways to process natural fibers.
Whether you like to pick your own or buy them in their shop, Green Mountain Orchards has apples, blueberries, peaches, pumpkins and more. You'll want to spend the day at this beautiful property because along with picking they offer hike, snowshoe, and many spots to create the perfect picnic.
Charles Dodge had a vision to create a winery in Vermont on his way home from teaching at Dartmouth one evening. He was intrigued about his student's beer making hobby and as he drove by the Green Mountain Orchards, inspiration struck. He decided to stick with Vermont tradition and craft delicious fruit wines from the delectable local produce. The press describes the wines as "extraordinary," "love at first taste," and even "an intensely remarkable treasure." Cheers!

Putney has some fine eateries including the local favorite JD McCliments Pub. This family friendly place more than just pub food. Carnita Tuesdays, Mexican night on Thursdays and daily specials and entrees can rival many fine dining restaurants.
It's not often you find a dedicated puppet theater, but then again, Putney isn't your average town. Sandglass is inspired by a love of puppetry and live performance, engagement with local and international community, and respect for audience. These shows are truly one of a kind!
Sacketts Brook with it’s stone arch bridge once turned a dozen water wheels on its descent to the Connecticut River, and flows right through the heart of Putney Village.
Here you can get just about anything you need from a fresh deli breakfast or lunch, to aspirins and bandaids at their pharmacy. The Putney General Store and Pharmacy has been the hub of the town for over 200 years.
