Fall is one of the best times in Vermont to tackle the trails. With the leaves blazing up in a colorful array of hues, the scenery never gets old. If you're short on time but still want to take advantage of every opportunity to enjoy autumn, take this easy hike under two miles for some of the most incredible views around.
The Mount Olga Trail is a lovely 1.7-mile loop in Wilmington's Molly Stark State Park. This relatively easy hike takes 1 1/2 - 2 hours to complete and has a phenomenal pay-off along the way.
Get your shoes tied and prepare for an excellent fall outing. The trail is a wee bit steep in the early section, but hang in there, it's worth every step!
While this trail is enchanting any time of the year, it is particularly stunning in the fall. Stop every once in a while to peer up into the canopy above, the colors are radiant.
Make your way through the forest. You'll feel much like a character in a fairytale. Once you've reached the summit, a glorious surprise awaits.
At the top of Mount Olga, there is a firetower just begging to be climbed. This is a must-do, so get ready for one more short ascent.
Head to the top for the most spectacular 360 degree view. The top of the world scenery is truly entrancing.
