The Timeless Utah Restaurant Everyone Needs To Visit At Least Once
Utah has some pretty incredible restaurants that have stood the test of time. We’ve written about
Lamb’s Grill – Utah’s oldest continually operating restaurant. We’ve also written about some of the other historic restaurants in the Beehive State, such as Ruth’s Diner, and these 15 Utah restaurants that are loaded with history. Here’s another timeless Utah restaurant that everyone should visit. It’s got a rich history, excellent food and scenery that can’t be beat.
Silver Fork Lodge is located in Big Cottonwood Canyon, nestled in the pines and aspens.
The address is 11332 E. Big Cottonwood Canyon Road.
This restaurant has a rich history, from its beginning as a general store for local loggers and farmers in the 1800s. In 1943, it became the lodge and restaurant it is today.
Ever since, Silver Fork Lodge has been serving people who come to the canyon for recreation. It's just minutes away from both Brighton and Solitude ski resorts.
Though the menu has been updated over the years, much of the restaurant remains the same. This beautiful rock fireplace is as cozy as ever, and photos from the past grace the mantle.
During the winter, there's nothing better than dining right in front of a roaring fire.
The glass tile of the bar is original, from the 1940s.
In the summer months, eat on the deck and breathe in that fresh, mountain air.
The hummingbird feeders draw dozens of these tiny creatures that will delight you while you dine.
It's magical in the evening, too.
Stop in for breakfast before hiking or skiing. The omelet and hash browns are a tasty way to fill up.
You can't go wrong with the homemade corned beef on rye for lunch.
The Canyon Pepper Steak is a longtime favorite.
Silver Fork Lodge serves up plenty of delicious, local brews.
You definitely need some dessert, too. The lava cake with ice cream is tasty.
You can't beat the sunsets here.
The next time you're in the mood for some delicious food in a beautiful setting, dine at the timeless Silver Fork Lodge.
The restaurant is open daily from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. If you're staying at Brighton or Solitude, you can request a shuttle to take you to and from the restaurant.
