If you've lived in Utah very long, you know that we have the best snow in the country. Whether you love to ski and board, or just go sledding or snowshoeing, our powdery, fine snow just can't be beat. U.S. News recently named Park City one of the best ski vacation spots in the entire country, and we have to agree that it's pretty awesome.
People come from all over the world to visit Park City. In fact, more than three million people visit this quaint little mountain town every year.
Park City got its start as a mining town in the late 1800s, and the first ski resort opened in the town in the 1960s. The 2002 Winter Olympics shone a spotlight on the incredible beauty of this place, and its popularity has increased every year since.
There are many reasons to love Park City as a ski vacation destination, starting, of course, with the skiing! Park City boasts two ski resorts: Park City Mountain and Deer Valley.
No matter which one you visit, you'll enjoy Utah's "Best Snow on Earth." Our powder is legendary!
It's a winter wonderland up here in these mountains...
...and the views are incredible.
When you stay in downtown Park City, you'll have lift access right from Main Street. This is truly a ski town.
Both mountains have a good mix of terrain for skiers and boarders of all skill levels. Pretty much everyone loves these mountains, especially the smallest, furriest members of the ski patrol.
Expert skiers and adventurers can ski the back country, and for a one-of-a-kind adventure, you can even hop on a helicopter that will whisk you to the top of the mountain so you can ski down the face like the dudes in the Warren Miller videos.
Of course, you don't have to be a skier or boarder to love a trip to Park City. There are plenty of other ways to get out and enjoy the snow, including tubing, snowshoeing, and sleigh rides.
After a day on the slopes, grab a meal or settle in for drinks in one of Park City Main Street's many restaurants and bars.
While you're here, you'll also want to explore the Olympic Park. The mountain boasts one of just two bobsled tracks that allows the public to go for rides. Park City also hosts world-class winter sports competitions throughout the winter.
Another event that draws people from all over the world to Park City is the Sundance Film Festival. You can mingle with the movie stars during the week-long fest, and see some of the best independent films of the year.
