Utah is home to five incredible national parks, and people come from all over the world to witness their beauty firsthand. Arches is perhaps the most iconic of the five - it's home to Delicate Arch and more than 2,000 others natural arches. The arches aren't the only natural wonders here - the monoliths and soaring cliffs are incredible to witness first hand as well! If you've never visited, Arches is THE national park to visit in Utah, and you definitely need to put it on your bucket list. When you get there, the Park Avenue Trail should be your first stop.
One of the best introductions to Arches National Park is the Park Avenue Trail. Some of the most impressive monoliths in the world are found right here, and the incredible views start right from the road.
To truly get a sense of the majesty of these rock formations and soaring cliffs, get out of the car and go for a stroll along the short, easy trail. It's just 1.8 miles, out and back.
The trailhead is located right on Arches Entrance Road, just 2.5 miles from the Visitor Center. You can't miss it!
Though this trail is short and easy, you'll still want to make sure that you have some essential items with you before you head out. Bring plenty of drinking water, a hat for protection from the sun, and some sunscreen. Moab is balmy on a summer day!
Park Avenue is truly an incredible nature wonder. The Courthouse Towers stand more than 600 feet tall. It's hard to get a sense of just how massive they are until you see them up close.
The Three Gossips are another famous landmark here at Arches. Use your imagination a little, and you can see the three people standing together, as if gossiping about the fact that Delicate Arch gets all the glory, while they're every bit as impressive.
If you've never been to Arches National Park, you should definitely put it on your bucket list. This beautiful, otherworldly place is right in our backyard, and it's truly magnificent.
Help Arches stay just as pristine as ever by following the principles of Leave No Trace. Stay on the trail during your hike, pack out everything you pack in, and be sure to be mindful of others on the trail.
