You Must Visit This Restaurant In Utah That Was Once A Historic Train Station

The Denver & Rio Grande Western Depot was built in 1910. It was designed by Henry Schlacks, a famous architect from Chicago, and when it was built, it was one of the most impressive train depots in the west. Today, the Rio Grande Depot no longer serves train passengers. It functions as the home of the Division Of Utah State History, and also provides Salt Lake Diners with some delicious Mexican food. The Rio Grande Depot is a beautiful historic place.

The building is stunningly preserved - a real historic gem in Salt Lake City. It's located at 270 S. Rio Grande Street.

The Rio Grande Cafe has been serving customers for more than 30 years.

The interior of the restaurant has many of the same preserved architecture - lots of wood and exposed beams.

The neon sign pays homage to this place's history.

Lovely art from local artists adorns the walls here.

The food here is delicious! The restaurant was recently purchased by brand new owners, but the tried-and-true menu is just the same.

Try the halibut fish tacos with a mango margarita on the side - it's the perfect meal on a Friday evening!
