One Of The Most Iconic Hikes In The Northeast Is Less Than Two Miles

The coast of Maine is a landscape that’s hard to beat. Anyone who’s ventured to Acadia National Park can attest to this fact. This beloved National Park attracts outdoor enthusiasts from around the world, despite its rather remote location. Fortunately, the famous park offers trails that won’t take all day to complete. In fact, the single most popular hike in Acadia measures in at just under two miles. Don’t be fooled, though, this trek is not for the faint of heart! It’s one of the best hikes in the United States for those who can manage, though – come see why!

Best Hikes in the United States

March 27, 2022

What are some of the best kid-friendly hikes around the United States?

With tens of thousands of miles of hiking trails weaving all over the United States, there are thousands of miles of trails that we would consider kid-friendly; it’s tough to decide which ones are the best, but some do stick out above the rest in terms of awesomeness. Some of our favorite kid-friendly hikes around the United States include gems like the amazing Hanging Lake hike in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, which features incredible waterfalls and a lush, green paradise unlike most in the world. In Utah (not terribly far from Colorado, really), check out the world-famous trail known as The Narrows at Zion National Park. That trail is better for older kids and is an epic in-river hike that they won’t soon forget! Finally, pay a visit to Wissahickon Valley Park, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for 57 miles worth of wonderful, easy hikes the entire family can do.

What are some of the most scenic hikes in the United States?

As we mentioned above, with thousands of miles of hiking trails in the United States to choose from, how do you decide which ones to do? One is unlikely to be able to conquer every trail in America in one lifetime, so picking the ones to do is kind of weirdly pressuring, in a way. Some of our picks, however, for amazing bucket list hikes in the United States include the amazing Bright Angel Trail, nestled within the Grand Canyon in Arizona. It’s the most popular (and most dangerous) trail to hike in Arizona, and it’s one of the most amazingly scenic and unique treks in the world – let alone the nation! Another must-do bucket list hike in the United States to do before you die is the epic Half Dome Hike, at Yosemite National Park in California. It’s an incredibly iconic trek through some of the most incredible landscapes in the country. It’s long, hard, and so very worth it! Then, head to Zion National Park and do the Angel’s Landing Trail; it’s just 5.4 miles long and shorter than the two previously mentioned trails, but it features 21 switchbacks along the way and is truly amazing. Finally, wander up to Montana and enjoy the Grinnell Glacier Trail at Glacier National Park; it’s 10.3 miles of scenic glacial lake views you will never, ever experience anywhere else.
