There are dozens of interesting Dinosaur sites in Wyoming,but this road trip includes some of the best that you can see in one or two days.
First, visit the Red Gulch Dinosaur Tracksite in Greybull.
You can walk in the footprints of real dinosaurs here. These tracks were preserved for millions of years, and the site was discovered in 1997. Scientists are still working to determine which dinosaurs left these footprints.
Your second stop is the Wyoming Dinosaur Center.
This larger-than-life museum in Thermopolis features dozens of dino skeletons, fossils, and artifacts. They even lead adventures where you can sign up to go on a real dig site for the day.
Next, head to Casper and visit the Tate Geological Museum.
Along with fossils, dino bones, and historic artifacts, you can also say hello to Dee! The 11,000-year-old Mammoth was discovered nearby in 2006.
Your penultimate stop is Fossil Butte, in Kemmerer.
This National Monument is where you'll find some of the most dense fossil collections in the world. Be sure to see the Fossil Cabin, built in 1915 by a man who spent his summers carving out these artifacts.
Finally, head to Fossil Safari, operated by FossilEra Adventures.
You can actually chisel out your own fossil fish from this family-friendly quarry. You'll get to take home your own souvenir from the land before time.
