1. Alma
Alma, Wisconsin is a nice river town that has just under 800 residents. This peaceful town is the backdrop to numerous bald eagles who make an appearance here annually. 2. Wild Rose
With a population of just over 700, Wild Rose, Wisconsin is in Waushara County. It was named as such because of wild rose bushes growing near town. The town offers Class A trout streams.
3. Wauzeka
Wauzeka, a town of around 700 is located in Crawford County. There is plenty here in the way of scenery, though. You will thoroughly enjoy the Wauzeka unit of the Kickapoo River State Wildlife Area.
4. Green Lake
Green Lake, Wisconsin has just under 1,000 residents. Yet, it is a favorite among tourists. You will love the golf courses and restored opera house. Oh, and the lake is the deepest in the state (237 feet). All these special features make this one of the best small towns in Wisconsin.
5. Ephraim
Ephraim, a Door County town, manages to remain its intimate feeling even during the height of summer tourism. The gorgeous lake views and warm community make this a place you want to put down roots.
6. Junction City
Junction City has a population of just over 400 people. Its motto is: "A quiet village with a big heart!" Community events throughout the year like a picnic and ice cutting make this a charming place.
7. Mellen
With just over 700 residents, Mellen, Wisconsin is located in Ashland County. In just a short drive, you can head to Copper Falls State Park, a gorgeous state park with awesome waterfalls.
8. Potosi
With around 700 people, chances are that you will be recognized in Potosi. Still, there is a lot going on. They hold an annual Catfish Festival and Fireman's Fish Fry. Also, Potosi is home to the longest Main Street in the world.
9. Sister Bay
The population of Sister Bay swells in the summer, when many visitors from across the country come to visit. But at the shops and restaurants busy with tourists during the summer, locals will recognize locals. And how many towns can say there is a restaurant with goats on the roof?
10. Oxford
Oxford has just over 600 people and is located in Marquette County. Nice country roads and a quiet town add to the charm. Boating, fishing, hunting, and camping are all popular here.
11. Neosho
The small Wisconsin town of Neosho has just 563 people. While small, this place has a very active community. It is home to one of the oldest continuously active Masonic Lodges in Wisconsin.
