Board These 8 Beautiful Trains In Wisconsin For An Unforgettable Experience

There's nothing like a great train ride. It's amazing to think that this used to be the main mode of transportation in America, and trains are definitely a strong part of Wisconsin's history. So it's important that we don't lose sight of it. Train rides can be fun for a family outing and can even be romantic. Here are eight beautiful trains to check out:

Please note, Lumberjack Steam Train and Camp 5 Museum is temporarily closed.

1. Mid-Continent Railway (North Freedom)

You can go on a number of awesome train rides, including a wine and cheese tasting train, Santa Express, and even a chance to ride on a wooden car.

2. Riverside and Great Northern Railway (Wisconsin Dells)

Ride their live steam trains over a three-mile track through scenic canyons, wooded areas, and by majestic rocks through the Wisconsin Dells.

3. The Osceola and St. Croix Dinner Train (Osceola)

Eat some fantastic food and experience Wisconsin's fall foliage like never before on their dinner trains!

4. Lumberjack Steam Train and Camp 5 Museum (Laona)

Take the whole family on a ride on a vintage steam train. You will visit the site of an actual Northwoods logging camp.

5. The Polar Express Train Ride (Middleton)

This train ride is the perfect way to enjoy the holiday season with the little ones. Get the kiddos in their Christmas gear and pajamas and board the Polar Express!

6. Milwaukee Light Engineering Society (Jackson)

This mile of track is operated by a society of train enthusiasts, who offer rides to the public.

7. Spooner Train Ride (Trego)

Go on a romantic train ride--a mobile bed and breakfast--on rails. It's a 1950s vintage sleeper car.

8. East Troy Electric Railroad (East Troy)

The East Troy Electric Railroad runs fall trains each weekend from East Troy to the Elegant Farmer in Mukwonago. Christmas trains start in late November and run through mid-December. Plus, there are five more dinner trains this year.

I can't wait to get on a train ride this fall!
