9 Staggeringly Beautiful Places In West Virginia That Will Always Be Waiting For You
Nine beautiful places in West Virginia will be waiting for visitors once it is safe to travel again.
We've been staying home for what feels like a very long time, and that may not change anytime soon. If you're feeling antsy to get back to all your favorite places and normal activities, we hear you! We are, too. But we know we don't have to rush it because these 9 beautiful places in West Virginia will always be waiting for us no matter how long it takes things to get back to normal!
1. The New River Gorge
Our favorite bridge isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and neither is the massive gorge it spans!
2. Charleston
We may not get to enjoy the tulips this spring, but the Capitol, its gardens, and the beloved city of Charleston will still be there when we are back to normal again.
3. Spruce Knob
The highest point in West Virginia will always be there, waiting for us to come on up for another peek at one of the best views in the state!
4. Harpers Ferry
This old town has been around for well over two hundred years, and it isn't going anywhere now.
5. West Virginia University
Campus is eerily quiet right now, but it's not going anywhere, either, and we look forward to seeing it back to bustling at some point next school year!
6. Blackwater Falls
This iconic amber falls rushes on, unperturbed, just as it's done for thousands of years. We'll see you again soon, Blackwater Falls!
7. Seneca Rocks
Seneca Rocks has undergone some changes in the past few decades, losing portions of its famous rock face, but as a whole, it still stands sentinel over Germany Valley, just as it's always done.
8. Dolly Sods
Dolly Sods Wilderness and Scenic Area will still be just as beautiful (and perhaps even more so) the next time we visit.
9. Coopers Rock Overlook
Huge views from our many overlooks will also be waiting for us when all this is done, including one of our favorites: Coopers Rock Overlook.
So don't lose heart, West Virginia! Your favorite spots will still be waiting for you no matter how much longer we're stuck at home. For another set of pictures to remind you of how beautiful our state is, try this list.
