Explore the festive holiday decorations in various downtown areas across Washington state, showcasing the unique charm of each location.
We love seeing the holiday cheer that spreads through our state during Christmastime. But due to snowy weather and busy schedules, it's impossible to see all the decorated Main Streets this time of year. For everyone who can't travel, here's a little photo tour of some of our decorated downtown areas.
1. Leavenworth
As always, our charming Alpine village tops the list of decorated cities. Leavenworth radiates holiday magic this time of year.
2. Walla Walla
Walla Walla kicks off the holiday season with the Macy's Holiday Parade of Lights, and the downtown area stays decked out in decor until the New Year.
3. Winthrop
The soft dusting of snow and strings of lights give Winthrop a festive look throughout the holiday season.
4. Yakima
Downtown Yakima always decorates for Christmas, and every year seems to be bigger and brighter.
5. Spokane
Downtown Spokane is a magical place to be during December, especially near River Park Square.
6. Bellevue
Bellevue's annual Snowflake Lane experience transforms the downtown area into a beautiful winter wonderland.
7. Chelan
February's Winterfest is what draws most people to Chelan this time of year, but they also deck out the downtown area with lights and a beautiful tree for Christmas.
8. Anacortes
The Anacortes Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 2nd shows off the beautifully decorated downtown area, which looks even more beautiful when it's adorned with lights.
9. Issaquah
Issaquah is a charming city in any season, but it's especially stunning at Christmastime.
10. Pullman
Most of the WSU Cougars head home for the holidays, but the locals that remain enjoy the festive holiday lights downtown.
The holiday season is such a beautiful time to be a Washingtonian... especially if you live near one of our best Christmas towns.
