Tucked away in Southwest Virginia, the scenic town of Floyd has a population of just under 500.

When you enter this magical Appalachian territory, you'll understand the town's unofficial motto: "Floyd is as much a state of mind as it is a destination."

As a destination along The Crooked Road, Floyd attracts a special community of musicians and artists. One particularly lively event is the Friday Night Jamboree.

This boot-stomping event features talented musicians from near and far in a classic country store. On Friday nights, you can definitely expect some dancing.

Floyd is also one of the most scenic stops along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The surrounding county borders 40 miles of the iconic mountain drive.

The most recognizable landmark is Mabry's Mill (milepost 176.2). Constructed in 1910, this gristmill is a picturesque piece of American history.

As you wander through the historic main street, you'll find loads of charming art shops, markets, and other stopping points.

One thing is for certain: residents and visitors to Floyd are never without something to do. Each summer, the small town welcomes thousands of music fans for the FloydFest summer festival.

This music and arts festival takes place over the course of 5 days and will take place from July 26th - July 30th this year.
