Not a Skier? This Vermont Snow Tubing Spot Is Just as Much Fun

Don’t ski? You can still enjoy the slopes at Stratton Mountain snow tubing park.

When I think about winter activities in Vermont, my mind automatically conjures up images of happy skiers making expert runs down the glistening, snowy slopes. While the Green Mountain State is, in fact, home to some of the best skiing in the northeast, it is also an incredible place to enjoy many other fantastic winter activities, including one of my favorites: snow tubing. If you don’t ski or are searching for a day of fun on the hills without having to drag along a bunch of equipment ot pay the hefty price of a lift ticket, I suggest checking out the tubing at the Coca-Cola Tubing Park at Stratton Mountain Resort in Stratton Mountain, Vermont.

Stratton Mountain is known for its 670 acres of ski trails, but the resort also offers some of the best snow tubing in Vermont, as well as other fantastic non-ski adventures. Whether you are an expert skier or have never visited a snowy mountain in your life, a tubing session is such a fun way to spend time with family or friends.

If you have never tried this winter activity before, now is the time to do so. There is just something so exhilarating about soaring down the hill on a cushy tube. It truly makes you feel like a kid again. And speaking of kids, snow tubing at the Coca-Cola Tubing Park is open to little ones as young as five, so be sure to bring the whole family. Tubing sessions last for 50 minutes and include unlimited runs on multiple lanes. Riders are transported to the top of the hill via the lift service, so no need for long walks up the mountain.

When your session is complete, head over to the cozy fire pit to dry off and warm your bones. You may have also worked up an appetite. Don’t worry, the Coca-Cola Snack Shack is nearby. If you choose to take advantage of the Coca-Cola Tube and Dine add-on, you can enjoy a delicious slice of pizza and a refreshing Coca-Cola beverage for an additional five dollars.

Tubing at the Coca-Cola Tubing Park is open Thursdays through Mondays. Sessions are available both during the day and at night (under the lights). Be sure to check the weather conditions before your session begins.

If you are spending more than an afternoon at Straaton Mountain, be sure to take advantage of some of the other resort activities. Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy up to 99 well-groomed trails of various degrees of difficulty. Other activities include cross-country skiing, fat biking, and snowshoeing.

If you are staying at the Stratton Mountain Resort, you also have access to even more fun off the slopes. Ice skating, pickleball, tennis, swimming, and yoga are just a few of the activities available in the winter. The resort also offers fantastic dining, shopping, and special events such as live music and children's programs.
