A place where colorful chalets are nestled between snow-capped mountains with tranquil waterways winding through alpine meadows. The village would feature pedestrian-friendly walkways with cobblestone streets, lined with quaint cafes and charming boutiques. If you’ve ever dreamed of spending time in a destination like this but can’t make it across the seas, have no worries, I’ve got the ideal place for you. 

Plan a trip to Heber Valley in northeastern Utah instead. With several European-inspired towns, majestic peaks, and serene waterways, this waterfront destination in Utah is brimming with European vibes. Leave your passport at home for this slice of Europe in America. 

Tucked away in Wasatch County, Heber City, Midway, Charleston, Daniel, and Wallsburg are several of the towns inside Heber Valley. Known for endless mountain adventures and charming communities, it’s the perfect destination for a mix of relaxation and outdoor fun. With a population of just 35,000 throughout the entire county, Heber Valley is ideal for folks who enjoy slow traveling. To be honest, you can’t go wrong with a trip to this region.  

The most popular town here is Midway, and it's famously known as the “Little Switzerland of Utah.” So, obviously, you’ll see Swiss influences around every turn. The largest city, Heber City, is surrounded by natural beauty and is home to one of the oldest family-owned restaurants in Utah: Dairy Keen.

Better yet, enjoy a delicious meal with awe-inspiring mountain and waterfront views at the Lakehouse on Deer Creek.
