Luckily, Texas offers plenty of quiet, peaceful communities to do just that, and here are 12 of them.

1) Abbott

Perhaps best known as the birthplace of Willie Nelson, this tiny town in Central Texas had a population of just 365 in 2010.

2) Coldspring

This is the location of Stephen F. Austin's first colony of Texas, and had a population of just 853 in 2010.

3) Pecan Gap

A quaint community in northeastern Texas near the Oklahoma-Texas border, the population in 2010 was just 203.

4) Broaddus

Located in San Augustine County, the population here was 207 in 2010.

5) Round Top

Located between Austin and Houston, you'll find the small community of Round Top, home to a giant annual antiques fair, plus many other art gatherings and events throughout the year.

6) Millican

A town of only 240 people, this small community is located in Brazos County.

7) Mingus

If you want to settle down in a small town in North Central Texas, this one could be just what you're looking for, with a population of just 235.

You'll find this small town right between Austin and Houston, with a population of 274.

9) Benjamin

Located in Knox County, you'll find the arid desert town of Benjamin with just 258 people living there.

Located in Hill County, you'll find the small community of Covington, home to less than 300 people.

11) Burton

Home to the oldest working cotton gin in the country, Burton is located in Washington County.

12) Rosebud
