Have you ever heard a town name that just makes you scratch your head in wonder? There are a couple of them out there, and ten that reside under ninety minutes from Music City. And we found them. Get your car ready for a nice road trip out into the Tennessee countryside, y'all!

Close to McMinnville, you have to get the double t right if you're looking to visit Smartt.

9. Bucksnort

The town doesn't boast a post office or census information, but you're known as a "Bucksnorter" if you hail from here.

Difficult, Tennessee is quite the name that promotes a questionable understanding of the town. It's a sweet place, though! Don't be fooled.

7. Nameless

Not quite nameless is Nameless, a Hickman County town.

6. Dull

This Dickson county town is most definitely real, although we've find quite a few folks that have tried to deny it (weird.).

5. Portland

Okay, okay - Portland isn't a weird name. Until you start referring to it and ALL the city transplants start thinking you're waxing on about Oregon. Hysterical.

4. Defeated

Located on Defeated Creek, the town was named after local historical events that took place in 1790.

3. Bell Buckle

Of the RC Cola and Moon Pie Festival fame, Bell Buckle is precisely the place you're looking to visit for a quirky time and a bit of down home Tennessee love.

2. Bugscuffle

Yep, it's a real place! And you can find Bugscuffle in Bedford County.

1. Only

Located just northwest of Centerville, Only is a sweet spot that's home to just a handful of folk.
